Posted on June 11, 1998

HyperMedia Communications, Inc., Chairman and CEO Richard Landry today named John Topping president of the Company and publisher of NewMedia magazine, two titles formerly held by Landry. In this position, Topping will be responsible for driving the growth strategy of NewMedia magazine and the company's other information products.

Topping comes to NewMedia with a range of experience in publishing, management, and national sales. In his six years at Miller Freeman Publishing in San Francisco, he held a variety of sales and marketing positions. Most recently, he was publisher of Network magazine, Miller Freeman's flagship title for IT professionals.

Said Topping, "I am particularly pleased to be joining HyperMedia at this exciting moment. NewMedia's redesign puts it at the center of today's hottest technology market, and the magazine's brand name and readership quality are unparalleled among its competition. I look forward to capitalizing on these strengths to build HyperMedia's revenues and market position."

With its July issue, NewMedia debuts a major redesign geared toward better serving the information needs of the magazine's core audience -- senior business managers and professionals responsible for driving Internet content and e-business strategies of their organizations.
