New Multiplayer Online Games Website Launched

Posted on March 17, 1998

GamesZone is being launched as the first dedicated venue in Europe for multiplayer online games. GamesZone is the first to build a whole community around this common interest.

Ian Nairn, the visionary behind GamesZone enthused: "GamesZone is different from everything else on offer - and it's cool. Its appeal is universal - all ages and types of people are catered for. And this is no accident. We've talked to games players and suppliers from all over the world, and by listening to them we've created a service which will provide our users with a great, fun experience. It's a site with character. If it were a car it would definitely be the new VW beetle, timeless style and appeal with 21st century oomph under the bonnet! Retro Techno with attitude..."

Users can register request a free CD-ROM containing the game client software. In order to play the games, users need to install the game launcher software and the game client for the chosen game from the CD. GamesZone charges pay as you play rates -- you can purchase play time by the hour, day or weekend.
