New Elvis Presley Resource Debuts

Elvis Presley Online has launched a new resource on The King. The site features news and information, trivia and a new first-person fictional novel about Elvis.

The novel, Clothed in Light, is written by Paul Jaffe, principal of Elvis Presley Online. Scheduled to be released this fall, Jaffe will place weekly excerpts from the book on the web site. The novel is written in the first person, as if from Elvis’ own voice:

"My dying shocked me, although I don't know why. I mean it shouldn't of, I'd been killing myself for years. But I never wanted to admit it to myself. I always had lots of excuses."

"I present Elvis in the first person, the narrator of his own story," said Jaffe. "A bold stroke, I know, but a necessary one to touch the truth and spirit of the man."

"The myth of Elvis Presley is a mile wide but only an inch deep," said Jaffe. "We have an image of the man as the swashbuckling king of rock n’roll, or the glitzy star in paunchy descent, but the depth of Elvis, his generosity and soul, has eluded us. My hope with this web site and the book is to bring that side of Elvis back to light."
