NetBooks.com to Launch with Hollywood Insider Titles

Posted on March 2, 1998

Kanakaris Communications, Inc. is launching NetBooks.com with two Hollywood insider titles aimed at bringing mass attention to its fully digital book publishing site. Hollywood Be Thy Name is the title of Cass Warner's biographical story of the Warner Brothers, which is co-written by Jack Warner Jr. and Cork Millner. It is described as a story of love and marriage, death and divorce, plotting and betrayal. The second title is Hollywood Heartbreak by Laurie Jacobson. It is about the lives and tragic deaths of 31 of Hollywood's most notable legends.

"On launch day, NetBooks.com is the single worldwide source for the complete, uncut versions of these pop culture blockbusters," announced CEO Alex Kanakaris, who personally brokered distribution deals with the authors and their representatives.

"The Kanakaris Communications blueprint for the Internet includes content and commerce with a Hollywood theme. At a time when online publishing is the darling of Wall Street, we are letting new and emerging authors get on the playing field by distributing their books on the Internet. Then we're loading the bases with exclusive newsworthy titles by established authors and prominent individuals. To score, and literally bring it all home, we offer 100% digital delivery that allows consumers to download books directly into their computers," stated Kanakaris.

Michael Horn, co-creator of NetBooks, and David Valenti, corporate President of Sales for Kanakaris, are anticipating the announcement of additional NetBooks launch titles within thirty days.
