NBG Radio Network Launches Travel Magazine

Posted on September 3, 1998

NBG Radio Network has announced the launch of a new division which will produce the magazine called Travel Exclusives. The magazine is a quarterly publication containing information on participating resorts and hotels for distribution to more than 25,000 travel agencies.

NBG Radio Network's (the "company") venture into the travel industry has evolved from producing a radio program entitled Travel Notes. The company offered the trading of radio commercials to resorts and hotel chains in exchange for room nights. Travel Exclusives was conceived when the demand for this marketing medium expanded. According to Dean Gavoni, Ph.D., vice president of sales, "We've discovered that the radio industry had a very common interest with resorts and hotels: perishable inventory. If we do not fill an advertising spot on one of our radio programs, that time is lost. The same dilemma is found in the travel business. The combination of our two resources will maximize profitability. We can package the radio targeting the consumer, and the print targeting the travel agent. The results will be overwhelming."
