Nature Conservancy's Newsroom Keeps Nature Up to Date

Posted on October 15, 1997

The Nature Conservancy has announced the launch of an online newsroom. Located at http://www.tnc.org, under the What's News? section of the web page, the Newsroom has the most recent press releases and tip sheets, an experts directory, copies of PSA's (both print and video), as well as background information about the Conservancy and all its state offices.

The website also links to sections containing the Conservancy's latest publications, state office sites, and information on what the organization is doing internationally. Reporters can also leave emails for more information on Conservancy topics.

The Nature Conservancy is a private, international, nonprofit organization established in 1951 to preserve plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive. To date, the Conservancy and its more than 900,000 members have been responsible for the protection of more than 10 million acres in the United States and Canada, and have helped through partnerships to preserve more than 60 million acres in Latin America, the Caribbean and the Pacific. The Conservancy owns and manages more than 1,600 preserves, the largest private system of nature sanctuaries in the world.
