Myke Cole Discusses His New Series, Shadow Ops

Author Myke Cole discusses his new series, Shadow Ops. Army officer Oscar Britton is a lieutenant in the military's Supernatural Operations Corps (SOC). Britton's mission is to bring order in a world where people are waking up eoyj magical talents following an event called the Great Awakening.

When Britton abruptly manifests a rare and prohibited magical power himself he finds himself transformed from government agent into public enemy number one. Shadow Ops: Control Point is the first book in the series.

Cole says he has worked at the Pentagon and defense institutions, which taught him that there is a culture of conservatism, rigidity and internal suspicion in the military. He says this idea combined with his nerdiness - like thinking "what if there was an elf here" as he walked the halls of the Pentagon - helped provide the genesis for the series. Take a look:
