Min Unveils Anniversary Magazine

Posted on October 27, 1997

min, the Media Industry Newsletter, celebrated its 50th anniversary on Saturday by unveiling min Magazine at the American Magazine Conference in Phoenix. This special full-color, 100-page publication commemorates people and events that have influenced the last five decades of the publishing industry.

To direct the special issue's content, publisher Phillips Business Information, Inc. (Phillips) tapped a board of editorial advisors representing some of the most distinguished consumer and business publishers, among them Hearst Magazines, Conde Nast Publications, Columbia Journalism Review, Time Inc., Newsweek, Penton Publishing, Crain Communications and Ziff-Davis.

In min Magazine, pioneers in today's competitive magazine business talk about the industry's movers and shakers, some of whom give their views on the state of the industry or share recollections of significant events in publishing's last 50 years. For example, Henry Grunwald, former managing editor of Time, discusses how news weeklies changed as readers increasingly turned to television for news and information. He also notes readers' declining interest in international affairs.
