Miller Publishing Group to Acquire Where Magazine

Miller Publishing Group of Los Angles acquires 80% of WHERE magazine from Key Publishers Company Ltd. of Toronto, it was announced by Robert L. Miller, president of Miller Publishing Group. WHERE is published in 42 cities in the U.S., Canada and Europe, and distributed primarily through hotels. Terms were not disclosed.

"We are extremely excited about the opportunity to acquire the premiere publication reaching global visitors, both tourist and business travelers. We are very optimistic at the prospect of investing in building quality brand awareness on the back of the local publishing infrastructures owned by WHERE and its many successful franchises," said Miller.

Miller Publishing Group is a partnership recently formed by Freeman Spogli & Co. Inc., a private equity investment firm, and Miller, a private equity investment firm, and Miller, a former Time Inc. executive. The acquisition of WHERE is the third transaction completed this year by Miller Publishing Group. In June, the company acquired controlling interest in two music publications, VIBE and SPIN.
