Methodfive to Launch 43 Journal Register Company Publications Online

Journal Register Company has awarded methodfive a contract to launch 43 additional weekly newspapers online. Journal Register Company currently has an online presence for each of its 19 daily newspapers as well as the St. Louis Suburban Journals and two other weekly groups. This contract expands Journal Register's online presence by adding five weekly groups online, encompassing 37 weekly newspapers, as well as augmenting groups currently online with 6 weekly newspapers. In total, the 43 weekly newspapers will be included within four umbrella sites.

Among the weekly newspapers included in the contract are Shore Line Newspapers, Guilford, CT; Elm City Newspapers, Milford, CT; the InterCounty Newspaper Group, Bristol, PA, which the Company acquired in December, 1997; and the Housatonic Publications, Milford, CT, and Minuteman Newspapers, Westport, CT, which the Company acquired in January, 1998. methodfive recently launched an umbrella site serving the Journal Register Company's cluster in the Capital-Saratoga Region of New York, Capital Central, which includes The Record, Troy, NY, The Saratogian, Saratoga Springs, NY, and Community News, a weekly newspaper serving Clifton Park, NY. Journal Register Company acquired Community News in March, 1998.
