Mecklermedia's Internet.com Acquires ISP-Lists
Posted on October 21, 1998
Mecklermedia's Internet.com network announced it acquired the ISP-Lists e-mail discussion lists, e-mail newsletters and network of Web sites.
The ISP-Lists business is a collection of e-mail based discussion lists, e-mail newsletters, and websites all focused on specific aspects of the Internet Service Provider industry. In September 1998, ISP-Lists distributed more than 3 million e-mail discussion posts from more than 7,000+ list members. ISP-Lists founder Christopher M. Knight has joined Internet.com's staff and is charged with furthering development of the business.
"ISP-Lists is the online hub of the Internet Service Provider community," said Alan M. Meckler, chairman and CEO of Mecklermedia. "Many people are talking about online 'communities' today. ISP-Lists is the best execution of the 'community' concept that we've seen in the business-to-business arena. We're impressed with what Chris Knight has built and are pleased that he'll be joining us to continue that work," Meckler added.
"Selling to the ISP market is a top priority for many technology companies. The ISP-Lists properties are effective vehicles for reaching the members of the community when they are in buying mode," said Chris Elwell, vice president and general manager of Internet.com.
