Maximum PC Magazine Arrives on Newsstands This Fall

Posted on May 4, 1998

Imagine Media, Inc. announced the September launch of Maximum PC. This monthly publication will deliver a targeted audience and focused editorial. Maximum PC will reside in Imagine's Digital Division, alongside Imagine's recently announced Business 2.0, a new publication that covers business in the Internet Age.

Maximum PC will be written specifically to high-income technology optimists. By combining boot's high-end PC owner readership with HomePC's advanced and expert PC readership, Maximum PC will start with a paid rate base of 300,000. The magazine will also deliver 150,000 additional copies for its first six months of publication.

Maximum PC will be dedicated to the heart of the PC owner's technology experience. Its editorial mission will provide in-depth coverage for those who demand the best hardware, the hottest software, the newest peripherals, and the fastest Internet experience possible. Its editorial will provide upgrading and purchase advice. Unlike magazines that are edited for people fearful of technology, Maximum PC's goal is to be for PC owners who want to play hard, work smart, and get it all out of their computers.

Gene Burns, a CMP veteran who helped build HomePC, will be Maximum PC's publisher. Along with Burns, HomePC veterans joining the team include Peter Bechenbach as Eastern Ad Director; Ed Rogers as Regional Sales Manager; and Nicole Boice as Southern California Sales Manager. On the editorial side, Brad Dosland, boot's current editor-in-chief, will captain the Maximum PC 's editorial team.
