Man Booker Prize 2011 Shortlist Announced

The shortlist for the 2011 Man Booker Prize has been announced. Two first time novelists, Stephen Kelman and A.D. Miller, are on the list. Reuters reports that British author Julian Barnes is the favorite to win the Prize. This is his fourth time on the Man Book Prize shortlist.

Here is the shortlist:

The winner of the 2011 Man Booker Prize for Fiction will be announced on October 18th at a dinner at London's Guildhall. The winner will receive 50,000 pounds (about $81,575 U.S.). Each of the six shortlisted authors, including the winner, will receive 2,500 pounds (about $4,079 U.S.) and a designer bound edition of their book.
