Posted on February 17, 1998
MacWEEK announced the promotion of David Morgenstern to editor. Morgenstern, 45, formerly the executive editor/news, will assume responsibility of the day-to-day editorial efforts at MacWEEK. He will report to Rick LePage, publisher and editor-in-chief of MacWEEK.
"David is unquestionably the best person for the position of editor. Not only does David have the respect of his peers and the Macintosh industry with his technical expertise and market savvy, but he also has the knowledge and experience to deliver the market's most timely and relevant editorial coverage," says LePage.
No newcomer to the computer industry, Morgenstern has more than eleven years experience covering the Macintosh market. He joined MacWEEK in 1993 as a senior writer and has held various positions at the magazine, most recently as executive editor/news. For MacWEEK, he has covered a wide range of technologies, such as desktop printers, high-resolution imaging, prepress servers, storage and systems.
Prior to joining the newsweekly, Morgenstern was a contributing editor with a variety of Mac-centric and multiplatform computer trade publications around the world, including MacJapan, MacPublishing and MicroTimes. He also has considerable experience in information delivery and academia, as a result of a 15 year tenure with San Francisco State University library.
