Love New Orleans is Unmasked in Time for Mardi Gras

Posted on January 12, 1998

Mardi Gras is fast approaching, and Love New Orleans, a new Web site from Advance Publications Internet, captures all the energy and excitement of Carnival. Launched in alliance with The Times-Picayune, the largest circulation daily newspaper in Louisiana, Love New Orleans is a virtual tour guide of the sights, sounds and tastes of New Orleans for people planning vacations, or for those lucky enough to attend one of the many conferences held in the city.

Love New Orleans has a complete Carnival Section featuring "Parading 101," "How to Catch," "Hot Throws," "Ladders" and the "Carnival A-Z Directory," said Jon Donley, the site's editor. "Mardi Gras is just one of the many facets of the city that Love New Orleans covers."

Love New Orleans explores the local nightlife and restaurants as well. Visitors to the site can see what's up on Bourbon Street--24 hours a day, seven days a week--using the BourboCam. The site also has 360-degree panoramic visual tours of the Commander's Palace restaurant, the Superdome and a Voodoo Museum. Love New Orleans lists upcoming festivals, art exhibitions, antique stores, updated weather reports for the city, and also has a section dedicated to famous New Orleanian Anne Rice.
