Lost Booker Prize Shortlist Announced

The Booker Prize Foundation is going back forty years to award a book published in 1970, a year that never had a Booker Prize winner. The shortlist for the Lost Booker Prize has been announced.

Here is the list:

• The Birds on the Trees by Nina Bawden
• Troubles by J. G. Farrell
• The Bay of Noon by Shirley Hazzard
• Fire From Heaven by Mary Renault
• The Driver's Seat by Muriel Spark
• The Vivisector by Patrick White

This Lost Booker Prize is a one-off prize to honor books published in 1970, which missed out on the opportunity to win the Booker Prize.
