Lisa Caputo Vice Named President of Buena Vista Publishing Group

Lisa Caputo will join the Walt Disney Company as Vice President, Communications and Synergy of the Buena Vista Publishing Group, Inc., effective October 14. The announcement was made by Steven Murphy, Senior Vice President of Buena Vista Publishing Group.
Caputo will oversee communications, publicity and synergy for Buena Vista Publishing. In addition, she will spearhead the coordination of the group's marketing and advertising efforts to take advantage of the group's scope and to ensure its brands are promoted with consistency. Buena Vista Publishing is comprised of Hyperion, Disney Children's Book Group, Licensed Publishing, Creative Development and the magazines Discover, Disney Adventures, Disney Magazine and FamilyFun.

Caputo joins Disney from the CBS Corporation where she had been Vice President of Corporate Communications. Prior to that, she was Deputy Assistant to the President and Press Secretary to the First Lady at the White House from 1993-1996. Caputo was also Press Secretary to Mrs. Clinton during the Presidential Transition as well as during the 1992 Clinton-Gore campaign. Before joining Mrs. Clinton's staff, she was the Director of Vice Presidential Media Operations for the 1992 Democratic National Convention.
