The Lambda Literary Foundation, a nonprofit organization for the LGBT literary community, announced that it received a $25,000 grant from Amazon.com. The money supports the Writers' Retreat for Emerging LGBT Voices. This year's retreat will be held August 6th through August 13th, 2011, on the UCLA campus in Los Angeles.

Tony Valenzuela, LLF's Executive Director, says, "This continuation of Amazon's generous support of Lambda Literary reflects its ongoing commitment to the development of emerging voices in the LGBT community. The mission of the Writers' Retreat is to foster the continued vitality of LGBT writers whose work fully explores the LGBT experience, and we are grateful to Amazon.com for helping to ensure the success of our efforts."
