Journal Register Company Completes Acquisition of The Farmington Valley Post

Journal Register Company Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Robert M. Jelenic has announced that Journal Register Company has completed its acquisition of The Farmington Valley Post from Lucia Reid. The acquisition includes a suburban, monthly newspaper serving central Connecticut with monthly distribution of approximately 30,000. The Farmington Valley Post, based in Avon, serves the towns of Avon, Burlington, Canton, Farmington and Simsbury.

"I am extremely pleased to welcome The Farmington Valley Post and its employees to Journal Register Company," said Jelenic. "The Post is an excellent addition to our Connecticut cluster. We anticipate strong synergies with our weekly Valley News publication." The Valley News and its monthly total market coverage (TMC) publication, Valley Life, have a combined distribution of approximately 29,000.
