Posted on January 14, 1998
Journal of Women's Health, an authoritative interdisciplinary peer-review publication edited by Bernadine P. Healy, M.D. (former director of NIH), is expanding both its frequency and content in 1998. The Journal welcomes information about new drugs and devices, services, professional education programs and publications, and patient education material. Directed to primary care physicians and specialists, Journal of Women's Health, which enters its 7th year, will be published 10 times in 1998, starting with the February issue.
Journal of Women's Health also provides physicians with timely information from voluntary health associations, medical centers, government agencies, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and service organizations, "We will also announce and describe patient-education materials that are available from these groups," said publisher Mary Ann Liebert. "Physicians like to have such literature on hand or tell patients where to get it."
Journal of Women's Health will review appropriate medical books for its interdisciplinary readership. In addition, the Journal will list and/or review books, audio tapes, and videotapes directed to patients.
Journal of Women's Health will profile physicians, surgeons, nurses, and other health professionals with expertise in women's health, including primary care and family physicians, cardiologists, endocrinologists, obstetricians and gynecologists, nutritionists, psychiatrists, and mental health professionals. The Journal will also profile departments of women's health at medical centers so that those that are well developed can be emulated.
