Oscar Winner John Williams Discusses Plans for Writing the Score for the New Star Wars Movie

Composer John Williams confirmed that he will be penning the score for the new Star Wars movie, which will be Episode VII. The Oscar winner is very excited about the project and says he has already met with J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy about the film.

Williams says he doesn't like to read the script first, instead he likes to watch the film and see where the "surprises" in the story are. Those surprises and turns help him create the music which fills out the story. Williams, who has written the scores for all six of the prior films, says that he is planning on using themes from the prior films to tie it all together. We're quite looking forward to what he will come up with. Take a look:
