John Evans Joins Detour Magazine as President

Publishing industry veteran John Evans has joined Detour Magazine, Inc. as President and Chief Executive Officer, it was announced by Detour Chairman Edward Stein. Evans brings over a quarter century experience in magazine and newspaper management to Detour Magazine, Inc., publisher of the eponymous Detour, the award-winning contemporary lifestyle magazine. Detour is based in Los Angeles and New York.

"I'm delighted to be joining this forward-looking company," Evans commented. "Our flagship title, Detour, a magazine that reports on popular culture, is the platform from which we will build our organization as we look to acquire magazines that speak to hip, successful professionals."

Most recently, Evans was President of Canterbury Consulting, with clients including Hachette Filippachi Publications, Globe Communications, Spin Publications, and RR Donnelly. Evans came to the United States from England in 1973, where he began his publishing career with Cornmarket Publications.
