Job Site Offers Dog Friendly Job Searches

Simply Hired has teamed up Dogster to offer a special job search that only shows you companies that have dog-friendly policies. The job search can be found here. Simply Hired and Dogster found over 400 dog-friendly companies.

Simply Hired says there are over 400 companies on the dog-friendly company list it compiled with Dogster's help. They include Amazon and Google, but most of the companies are small in size. Simply Hired says, "Dog-friendly policies appear to come with the territory when it comes to most pet stores, humane societies, groomers and vet offices. Local branch offices of real estate and retail outlets also litter the list."

Simply Hired and Dogster also ran a study to see what dog owners would do if they could bring their dog to work. Here are the results.

Results for what dog owners would do if they were allowed to bring their dog to work:

66% -- Work longer hours

55% -- Commute a greater distance

49% -- Switch jobs

32% -- Take a 5% salary reduction

11% -- Take a 10% salary reduction

There seem to be some benefits here for employers willing to allow pets in the workplace.
