Posted on December 1, 1997

IVI Publishing, Inc. announced that Robert Goodman, head of business development for MSNBC on the Internet, has been named the Company's president and chief executive officer and has also been appointed to the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Goodman begins his new position with IVI effective immediately and acting president and CEO Tim Maudlin returns to his status as a director of the Company. Mr. Goodman, who previously held various legal and management positions at 3DO, NeXT and MIPS Computer Systems, was instrumental in developing MSNBC's distribution relationships with WebTV, Yahoo!, Infoseek, ZDNet, AT&T Worldnet and Mindspring, among others. MSNBC on the Internet is a joint venture between NBC and Microsoft.

Mr. Goodman said, "Health information on the Internet leverages the strength of the Internet in that it allows people to easily gather various forms of information and come to a decision, resulting in a connection between the digital and analog worlds. Gathering health information on the Internet also mirrors the societal trend towards empowering people to take control of their health and healthcare decisions, thus controlling healthcare costs. As Internet advertising and e-commerce increase over the next several years, I believe IVI's OnHealth site is uniquely positioned to capitalize on these strengths. I look forward to working with IVI's Chairman, Mike Brochu, and the whole IVI team to build this site, to establish the Company's market leadership position and to create substantial additional shareholder value."

IVI Publishing, Inc. is an electronic publisher of interactive, multimedia health and medical information. IVI delivers its content via online, CD-ROM and cable television.
