Intertec Publishing Changes Corporate Name to Primedia Intertec

James A. Warner, vice president of PriMedia Inc. and president of PriMedia Specialty Magazines, announced that the Company has organized its international technical and trade publishing group, Intertec Publishing, into five market-focused divisions and renamed the organization PriMedia Intertec. Each of the newly named divisions focuses on a particular growth business: Communications & Entertainment, Technology & Transportation, Marketing & Professional Services, Agribusiness and Industrial. Several management promotions accompanied the change.

"Today's actions reinforce the targeted nature of our international technical and trade publishing business," said Warner. "By focusing on our authoritative positions in particular niches, we will continue our explosive growth."

PriMedia Intertec publishes more than 90 technical and trade magazines, supplements and newsletters; manages 30 trade shows and conferences; and produces 350 technical books, valuation guides and directories. PriMedia Intertec's titles have significantly increased by more than 40 with the acquisition of Maclean Hunter, Argus and Cowles Business Media, and expansion into Latin American and Asian markets.

Raymond E. Maloney, currently president and chief executive officer of Intertec Publishing, has been promoted to president and chief executive officer of PriMedia Intertec. Dan Altman, currently Intertec Publishing senior vice president and chief financial officer, has been promoted to executive vice president of operations and chief financial officer. Altman assumes additional responsibilities for manufacturing and production for PriMedia Intertec.
