Imagine Media Launches Business 2.0

Posted on July 6, 1998

Imagine Media unveiled its latest offering: Business 2.0. The new international publication covering the New Economy plans to bring its readers in-depth articles on the ideas, companies, people and business models driving business today. Among the premiere issue's highlights are: The 10 Principles For The New Economy; an analysis of adventurous newcomer Priceline.com; the 25 Most Intriguing Minds of the New Economy; a report card on Washington; an in-depth look at E-Trade's new portal play; and a new look at how the search for extraterrestrials could yield fascinating dividends for network intelligence.

"In the New Economy, changes are coming so fast readers need a magazine that can act like cartographers in an earthquake," said Rick Espinoza, publisher of Business 2.0. "Business 2.0 is a magazine with the editorial depth readers expect from traditional business publications like Forbes and Fortune paired with the forward-thinking strategic insights of entrepreneurs."

To lead Business 2.0, Imagine Media recruited industry veteran James Daly, formerly of Wired and Forbes ASAP, to serve as editor in chief. "Business readers have grown beyond techno-hype. They need solid, serious analytical reporting that can be applied directly to the issues they face every day," said Daly. "Business 2.0 will mix insider experience with intellectual analysis."

Business 2.0: The Network will feature a free weekly newsletter titled Business 2.0: The Network Iconocast; WhoIS, a virtual who's who of the marketing services industry; an Internet population clock, updated every second; scrolling Internet stock ticker; and searchable archives.
