Holiday Inn Express Launches Navigator Magazine

Posted on June 1, 1998

Beginning this week, Holiday Inn Express will offer its guests an in-room in the more than 750 properties in the Express system. A bimonthly general interest magazine, Navigator will debut with the June/July edition. The publication was created to help travelers find their way -- navigating the country, life's pleasures and life itself.

"Perhaps the most exciting thing about Navigator is that Express is the only hotel brand to offer its guests a concept like this in terms of content and interest," said John Sweetwood, president of Holiday Inn Express. "The uniqueness of the concept, and the magazine itself, is one more way that Express stands out above the rest in the limited-service hotel segment."

Contributors to Navigator include authors who have written for publications such as Entertainment Weekly, Fortune, Sports Illustrated and Outdoor Life. Each issue will cover a wide range of topics including sports, entertainment and food. In addition, there will be photo essays; news on traveling trends, tips nd gear; information about maps and mapping; and guides to U.S. and international events and attractions.

Express has joined with Pace Communications to publish Navigator. Pace has been in the custom publishing business for 25 years, and has produced magazines for clients such as US Airways, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Acura and Nautilus.
