Description: Bat City Review is a literary journal that was founded in 2004. It is supported by the University of Texas at Austin’s English Department and James A. Michener Center for Writers.

Needs: Bat City Review says it is interested in "poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction that experiments with language, form, and unconventional subject matter, as well as more traditional work."

Length: 5,000 for fiction and nonfiction. For poetry submissions, submit three to five poems.

Payment: Contributors receive two free copies of the issue in which their work appears.

Tips: They also run an annual Short Prose Contest.

How to Submit: Submit through the Bat City Review Submittable form. They are open to submissions during certain months of the year.
