Group Seven Communications, Inc. Launches Deportes Hoy

Group Seven Communications, Inc. announced the launching of "Deportes Hoy," the first Spanish language Sports Daily newspaper in the United States. "Deportes Hoy" will be published by Group Seven Communications' Spanish language publishing division, Grupo Siete Internacional, Inc.

"Deportes Hoy," the premier Spanish-language Sports Daily information source for today's Hispanic sports enthusiasts in Los Angeles, the #1 Latino Market in the United States will be circulating in the Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties on February 1, 1998.

This will be Group Seven Communications' second Spanish language publication, after successfully launching "Playboy-Un Estilo de Vida," the imported edition published in Spanish and circulating in the United States since October 1997.

This breakthrough publication is fortunate to have as the Editor-in-Chief, Fernando Paramo, the most recognized and widely read Spanish-language sports writer in the United States. Mr. Paramo's experience spans more than 20 years as a writer and editor in both regional and national Hispanic sports publications. Spending more than 13 years as the Sports Editor of a major daily Spanish newspaper in Los Angeles, he expanded the Sports Department from a basic operation into the most experienced staff of writers and internationally credited correspondents in Hispanic sports coverage. Additionally, his current work as a two-time Emmy Award winner commentator, interviewer and play-by-play announcer for television and radio places "Deportes Hoy" at the forefront of Spanish-language sports coverage.
