Grolier Interactive Launches 1999 Reference Suite

Grolier Interactive has announced the availability of a new family reference suite featuring the 1999 Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia Deluxe Edition, the Hammond Atlas of the World CD-ROM, Bartlett's Familiar Quotations Expanded Multimedia Edition Version 2, and the Wall Street Journal Almanac CD-ROM. The five-disc 1999 Grolier Multimedia Reference Suite CD-ROM Edition is expected to be street priced at $79.99.

The encyclopedia's 58,000 articles (36,000 disc-based and 22,000 available through the software's two online encyclopedias) are enriched with 163 high-quality videos; 15,000 images; 1,200 maps; and 15 hours of sound that aid in the learning process. The Hammond Atlas of the World CD-ROM offers digital maps in a wide variety of styles (political, physical and TerraScape) in a database of more than 250,000 names.

The famous Bartlett's Familiar Quotations takes the original book's 22,000 textual quotations and enhances them by adding rich multimedia features such as graphics, audio, movie stills and video. The Wall Street Journal Almanac CD-ROM features extensive essays and analysis, charts, graphs, reports and statistics in a multimedia format.
