Goosebumps Children's Book Series Announces Creepstakes Contest

Goosebumps fans have a chance to write their own terrifying story with a chance to win the Creepstakes -- a nation-wide contest in which fans finish a story by R.L. Stine. Stine's story beginning, as well as clues to be included in the story, are featured in upcoming Goosebumps Series 2000 Books #6-9 (June through September). When readers receive all eight clues, they must write an ending to the story that includes each of the clues.

The Grand Prize is a trip to New Orleans to visit graveyards, mansions, and swamps. The Grand Prize winner also receives a DreamWorks Goosebumps CD-ROM and an autographed copy of R.L. Stine's autobiography It Came From Ohio!. Twenty-five First Prize-Winners will receive a DreamWorks Goosebumps CD-ROM and an autographed copy of It Came From Ohio while fifty Second Prize Winners will be awarded an autographed copy of It Came From Ohio.

The Goosebumps Series 2000 books which feature clues in the Creepstakes are: Goosebumps Series 2000 #6: I Am Your Evil Twin (Scholastic/Parachute Press; June 1998; $3.99; Ages 8-12), #7: Revenge R Us (Scholastic/Parachute Press, July 1998; $3.99; Ages 8-12), #8: Fright Camp (Scholastic/Parachute Press; August 1998; $3.99; Ages 8-12) and #9: Are You Terrified Yet? (Scholastic/Parachute Press; September 1998; $3.99; Ages 8-12). The clues will also be included on in-store merchandise displays, on consumer giveaways, and on the Goosebumps website.

The Creepstakes is open to all residents of the USA 15 years-old and younger (as of 12/31/98). Entries (no longer than three pages) should be sent along with name, address, birthday and telephone number to: Goosebumps Series 2000 Creepstakes, c/o Scholastic Inc., PO Box 7500, Jefferson City, MO 65102. Deadline for entries is October 1, 1998.
