Get Up and Go Magazine Introduced in New York

Get Up And GO!, a national lifestyle magazine for the growing 50-plus population, was introduced to the New York advertising and marketing community today by Dr. Ken Dychtwald, chairman of Age Wave Communications, Emeryville, California. Dr. Dychtwald, a psychologist, gerontologist and author of the best seller, Age Wave, is an authority on the aging of the population and its marketing implications.

Get Up And GO! is a network of monthly magazines reaching today's 50-plus adults. The network includes 47 editions with 3.5 million readers in 10 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington. The revamped publication will debut in March with a cover story on Sophia Loren - "Sophia, Still Sexy After Sixty."

Get Up and GO! has an ABC audited circulation of more than 1.6 million in areas with a high density of residents 50 years of age and older. Those between ages 55 and 70 constitute the core readership of the magazine. Leda Sanford, former publisher of American Home magazine who held key positions at Modern Maturity, is editorial director of Get Up and G0!.
