General Media International Names Robert H. Altman President and CEO

General Media International Inc. (GMI), publisher of Penthouse, other magazines and internet related product, video, film and t.v. properties, announced the appointment of Robert H. Altman as president and chief executive officer.

Bob Guccione, chairman of the board of General Media, said Altman's appointment, "will bring a new era of financial sophistication to General Media with an emphasis on expansion and profitability. GMI continues to be at the forefront in magazine and internet publishing and will now aggressively move forward in both media."

Altman, most recently a partner in the corporate group of the international law firm of Bryan Cave, LLP, has served on the boards of directors of several companies, both private and public. While at Bryan Cave, Altman specialized in corporate finance, capital formation, mergers and acquisitions and technology transactions. Prior to joining Bryan Cave he was a senior officer of a large, publicly held drug store chain as general counsel and head of several departments.

General Media is the publisher of 16 magazines, and a number of comic books and is best known for its flagship Penthouse, which is also published in 19 foreign language editions around the world. Other publications include the popular automotive titles, Stock Car Racing, Four Wheeler, Open Wheel and Drag Racing Monthly magazines.
