Gameloft to Develop War of the Worlds Mobile Game

Gameloft, a developer and publisher of video games for mobile phones, announced it has signed an exclusive agreement with Viacom Consumer Products, Inc. to develop, publish and distribute the wireless game version of Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds film starring Tom Cruise.

Gameloft will develop the War of the Worlds storyline into a mobile game and distribute it through Gameloft's network of carriers, partners and its online store. War of the Worlds is a contemporary retelling of H.G. Wells' classic. Gameloft's version of War of the Worlds will be available June 29th, 2005, in sync with the worldwide movie release.
