MesaView, Inc., a provider of publishing services to the eBook industry has announced that David P. Palmer has joined the company as Senior Vice President for Publishing. In this role Mr. Palmer will direct MesaView's alliances with publishers, oversee the editorial services that MesaView offers to authors of eBook content, and work with other company executives in developing MesaView's strategy. He will be based in New York.

Before joining MesaView Mr. Palmer was with Reader's Digest for 14 years, most recently as a Vice President and the Editor-in-Chief of its U.S. General Books division. Prior to joining the Digest he taught humanities at Columbia University. He has an M.Phil. in philosophy from Columbia and a B.A. in government from Harvard.

"MesaView is exactly where I want to be as the eBook revolution unfolds," said Mr. Palmer. "It's clear that electronic distribution will drive significant changes throughout the publishing industry during the next 10 years. Every publisher will need to be technologically flexible --to quickly, easily, and cheaply convert any text into multiple formats. MesaView's vKnowledge Server is one of the most efficient, accurate, and cost effective conversion programs available. As an old content-and-marketing guy, I'm excited to have this opportunity to marry my background to the pioneering technical expertise at MesaView."
