Faulkner & Gray to Launch Two New Publications
Posted on December 14, 1998
Faulkner & Gray, Inc., a publisher of specialized information technology magazines, has announced a bimonthly magazine covering the increasingly critical role of personal identification and biometrics in a networked society. ID World will address both traditional and emerging identification technologies including biometrics, smart cards, electronic photo ID, public key cryptography, anti-counterfeit techniques, and RFID.
Also announced was Internet Retailer, a magazine for traditional retailers, catalog merchants, and a brand new class of "virtual" storekeepers. Internet Retailer will also report on efforts by manufacturers of brand-name merchandise to bypass retailers and sell goods directly to consumers on the Web.
"As we evolve into a more networked society, it is clear that more attention will need to be paid to identification in both the physical and virtual worlds," according to ID World Publisher Ben Miller. Miller, who founded the CardTech/SecurTech conference business, joined F&G at the beginning of this year, when F&G purchased CTST, the world's largest conference for advanced card, security, and identification technology.
"F&G is uniquely positioned to publish ID World because of the insight and relationships that we have established through our existing publishing and conference business," observes F&G President Jack Love. "Card Technology, one of our fastest growing magazines, already serves the smart card side of CTST's market. ID World gives us a publication that serves the biometric and other advanced identification systems market, which is the other key element of CTST's success."
