ESPN The Magazine Announces Initial Circulation Figures

Posted on June 1, 1998

ESPN The Magazine exceeded 400,000 in paid circulation for its first two issues - above the guaranteed 350,000 rate base - announced John Skipper, The Magazine's senior vice president and general manager. Paid subscriptions for the first two issues totaled more than 225,000 and newsstand sales averaged 175,000.

"We're thrilled with the consumer response to ESPN The Magazine," said Skipper. "The strong circulation figures confirm that readers have embraced The Magazine and are pleased with the product."

Continued growth of The Magazine is expected as the current 350,000 guaranteed rate base rises to 500,000 in September 1998. An additional hike is scheduled for January 1999 to 700,000.
