Dummies Daily E-mail Newsletters Expand to United Kingdom and Ireland

Posted on January 23, 1998

Dummies Daily UK and Dummies Daily Ireland will be jointly produced by PC World Online, IDG Books Worldwide, PC Advisor and Scope Communications. The U.S. series, launched just six months ago, has already attracted an impressive 385,000 subscriptions, according to Thomas Gewecke, Publisher of PC World Online Network.

"PC World Online and the '...For Dummies' books are two of the world's best-known computer information brands," said Gewecke. "We're looking forward to these two new editions being a big hit on the other side of the Atlantic, as well as to expanding this valuable service to more readers worldwide."

According to Frank Quinn, publisher of Ireland's ComputerScope, Dummies Daily Ireland will also be localized and hosted in InfoLive, an online information site which delivers focussed IT resources to Irish Web users.

"Underpinning Ireland's booming economy -- the fastest growing in Europe -- is a population of IT-literate graduates which will appreciate the value and quality of the advice and tips in the Dummies Daily content," Quinn said.
