Disney Publishing Executive Joins BabyCenter.com as Editor-in-Chief

BabyCenter, Inc. announced the appointment of Susan Clare Ellis, 40, to the new position of editor-in-chief. Ellis joins BabyCenter from Disney Publishing's popular FamilyFun magazine where she spent the last four years as executive editor and editor.

In her new position, Ellis will oversee the editorial content for all of BabyCenter's publishing initiatives including BabyCenter.com, a web site for new and expectant parents. The fast-growing site was recently honored with a prestigious Webby Award in the Home category and was selected as one of Business Week's Top Five Web Sites to Watch in 1998. Ellis will lead the current BabyCenter editorial team, which includes several former Parenting magazine journalists, and will participate as an executive staff member for the BabyCenter organization.

In addition to FamilyFun, Ellis has extensive experience in the health and parenting fields, having managed editorial for more than a decade at Health magazine, Longevity, and Hippocrates magazine. Prior to that she worked for Business Week, Time Magazine, and DLJ's Portfolio Managers Weekly.
