Developer's Resource Announces Major Expansion

Posted on May 7, 1998

Developer.com announced the launch of three new directory areas for Visual Basic, Active Server Pages and XML and the significant growth of its Online Developer's Library. These additions mark developer.com's continued expansion into new technology coverage for its audience of Windows, and other developers.

The Visual Basic Directory was created in response to recent research conducted by Cyber Dialogue which found that nearly 80% of developer.com's 1.3 million strong audience develops on a Windows Platform. The new section contains over 100 resources, including tutorials, freeware, shareware, training and the full-text of books from leading computer publishers.

The new Active Server Pages (ASP) Directory offers developer.com's audience resources including component catalogs, columns and advice, troubleshooting resources, tutorials and full-text books, to aid in the design of complex, programmable Web pages that draw on databases or other server objects for Internet applications.

Developer.com's new XML Directory provides a comprehensive foundation for understanding this quickly emerging technology. The new section contains over 200 resources, including examples and demos, tools, tutorials, events listings and programming information.

"To maintain out leadership position, we need to offer everything a developer could possibly want to get their job done," said Bill Gollan, Senior Vice President of Online Services at EarthWeb, the company which created and maintains developer.com. "These additions are just the beginning of a massive growth phase and I think people will be surprised and impressed by what they're going to see on developer.com in the next six months."
