Posted on June 4, 2012

Dennis Lehane has announced The Cutting Season by Attica Locke as his first selection of his eponymous line of books at HarperCollins. Locke's debut novel, Black Water Rising, was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize and nominated for an Edgar award. The Cutting Season will be published on September 18th, 2012.

HarperCollins announced a new relationship with Dennis Lehane last year. Lehane will oversees a line of books and publish a select number of fiction titles a year.

Dennis Lehand said in a statement, "I was first struck by Attica Locke's prose, then by the ingenuity of her narrative and finally and most deeply by the depth of her humanity. She writes with equal amounts grace and passion. After just two novels, I'd probably read the phone book if her name was on the spine."
