Crown Books Announces Two Executive Appointments

Crown Books Corporation announced the appointment of Mr. Steven Pate as Vice President of Operations and Mr. Stephen Petty as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Pate has a career distinguished by more than 17 years in the book business. Most recently he was in charge of operations development at Barnes & Noble, Inc. and was formerly the Director of Operations at B. Dalton Bookseller. Mr. Petty has held numerous financial positions in the retail industry including several divisions of the May company and was the Chief Financial Officer at Waccamaw.

Richard Stone, Chief Executive Officer for Crown Books and Anna Currence, President and Chief Operating Officer, stated that, "The placement of these two experienced retail executives forms the basis and leadership to concentrate the energies of the company on improving its financial performance."
