Creative Publications California Offices Relocating to Chicago

Posted on April 15, 1998

Jo Anne Schiller, president and CEO of Tribune Education's Everyday Learning/Creative Publications Group, announced that the Creative Publications offices in Mountain View, Calif., will relocate to Chicago.

"More than 60 percent of our employees are already located in the Chicago area. Therefore, it makes good business sense to consolidate Creative's headquarters and home office operations in Chicago," Schiller said. "By pulling everyone together, we can better build the teamwork and good communications that are so essential to a successful business. Because of the impact of this decision on the employees, this was not an easy decision to make."

Approximately 35 employees will be affected by the relocation, which is expected to be completed by September. All affected employees are being offered separation packages. The senior management team will be relocated and several key employees are being offered positions in Chicago. Although both Creative Publications and Everyday Learning will be based in Chicago, they will continue to operate as independent and separate companies.
