Craig Childs Wins 2013 Orion Book Award

Posted on April 11, 2013

Craig Childs has won the 2013 Orion Book Award for his book, Apocalyptic Planet: Field Guide to the Everending Earth. The book takes readers on a journey of possible futures for Earth and reveals ways we can change our place within the cycles and episodes that rule it.

Orion Magazine editors say, "Apocalyptic Planet puts an entirely new spin on our usual preoccupations with climate change and catastrophe in general. This is a work deeply worthy of the Orion Book Award."

The award is given annually to a book that "addresses the human relationship with the natural world in a fresh, thought provoking, and engaging manner." You can find a list of 2013 Orion Book Award finalists at orionmagazine.org.
