CMP Media's Computer Retail Week has launched Computer Retail Web, an online publication covering technology, products and the people driving computer retailing on the Internet. The Webpaper, debuted this week at computerretailweb.com.

"We've seen Egghead's transformation into an online-only retailer and Microsoft's aggressive push to sell products online as high-profile examples of an e-commerce boom," said Aaron Ricadela, Computer Retail Web's News Editor. "We'll keep the marketplace informed as its participants address the operational and strategic challenges of Web selling."

Ricadela explained that online shopping is growing in popularity, especially as security fears are subsiding. Computer products rank among the most sought-after goods online, he added.

Computer Retail Web focuses on topics like new Web stores, Washington activities, electronic software distribution and auctions. There are links to the top online retailers, to vendors' online stores, to research tracking the virtual-store phenomenon, to e-commerce help sites and to auction sites as well as a stock watch tracking public online retailers.
