CMP's EE Times Promotes Jeffrey Patterson to Publisher

CMP's EE Times, the industry newspaper for design engineers and technical management, has promoted Associate Publisher/Sales and Marketing Jeffrey Patterson to Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Richard Wallace to Editorial Director.

Patterson will assume the day-to-day management of the electronics industry's largest publication from Publishing Director Steve Weitzner, who will now devote more time to the publication's strategic direction, working with key customers, and executing its international business plan. Wallace, who has managed EE Times' staff since taking the editorial helm from Weitzner in 1991, will now focus on new product development and take over other areas of editorial direction.

A recognized industry veteran who has worked on both the client and agency sides of the business, Patterson joined EE Times last October from Beacon Technology Partners, where he was Managing Partner. Prior to his work at Beacon Technology Partners, Patterson served as Publisher of Cahners' EDN Magazine from 1993 to 1996. He previously held positions as Advertising Sales Director at EDN from 1991 to 1993 and a Regional Sales Manager for Electronic Business in Silicon Valley. Before he joined Cahners in 1989, Patterson also held advertising and marketing communications management positions at National Semiconductor, Foote, Cone & Belding/Technology, Raychem and Pinne, Garvin & Hock.
