CME, Inc. Acquires CMEA Inc.

Posted on March 4, 1998

CME, Inc. announced the acquisition of CMEA, Inc. of San Diego, California, making CME, Inc. America's largest independent provider of continuing education (CE) for physicians and healthcare professionals.

CME, Inc., which has already established a distinguished reputation of providing CE in the psychiatric and neuroscience fields, called the acquisition a crucial strategic step. CME, Inc. entered the primary care publishing arena with the February launch of its new publication, Medicine & Behavior, and expects the acquisition of the premier primary care conference provider to strengthen its presence in the primary care CE market. The natural strategic alliance that has been created will offer new possibilities for continuing education weekend conferences, and audio, video and CD-ROM products.

CME, Inc., founded in 1978, is a medical education and healthcare information firm, providing useful, high-quality clinical information to psychiatrists, physicians, other healthcare professionals, and consumers. CME, Inc. publishes Psychiatric Times, a monthly publication for psychiatrists; Medicine and Behavior, a bi-monthly publication for primary care physicians and providers; and the Mental Health InfoSource Website.
