CitySearch Moves Into Three New Cities

Posted on March 9, 1998

CitySearch announced partnership arrangements with three major metropolitan news companies -- The Baltimore Sun, The Dallas Morning News and The San Diego Union-Tribune. The relationships will establish new city site services in Baltimore, Md., Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, and San Diego.

As part of the agreement, CitySearch will provide the tools and technology for each site, and will be involved in building marketing and sales efforts, while each partner will produce individual site content. Each of the services will appear on the CitySearch network and will be featured in CitySearch national promotions.

The agreements further CitySearch's strategy of working with leading local media companies. CitySearch will contribute the tools, technology and business model, along with a dedicated team to assist each site in the rollout of their local service. Baltimore, Dallas, Fort Worth and San Diego residents and visitors will have access to daily news, information, merchants, community activities, arts and entertainment venues and more.
