Christmas Website Has a Humorous Twist

Posted on November 7, 1997

From mixed up gifts to turkeys still frozen solid on the big day, the topic of this new Web site is humorous holiday happenings. The new site, named Happy Christmas and located at happychristmas.com, uses humor to celebrate the sometimes stressful holiday season.

Humor was chosen as an overall theme to differentiate Happy Christmas from other major Christmas Web sites. Visitors to the site can share their funny stories in a variety of categories, including "the most useless gift," and "Christmas catastrophes." Other popular sections include sending electronic Christmas cards and sharing "battle stories from the shopping mall." The site also features reviews of popular and classic Christmas movies.

The Happy Christmas Web site is a joint venture between MegaloMedia, Inc., an Internet development firm based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and SCS Internet, based in London, England.

Steve Davis, President of MegaloMedia, said they expect to get over one million visitors to the site between November 1st and December 25th. "Humor is important this time of year," Davis said. "People enjoy sharing these stories because sometimes the most memorable parts of the holidays are the things that go hilariously wrong."
