Characters Blogs Likely to Become More Popular

Posted on April 19, 2005

A blog entry from Micropersuasion goes against character blogs. Then an entr from Rok Hrastnik of Marketing Studies explains why Micropersuasion is wrong about character blogs. It really doesn't matter if some people don't like character blogs as long as they find a fan base out there -- which they definitely will. There are going to be people who follow character blogs and love them. This will make the haters of character blogs even sadder because they will never ever be able to stop character blogs from going away.

Many people love fictional content whether it is found in books, games or movies so some of them will probably tune in to read and watch character blogs as well. Characters have always been used by the advertising and entertainment industries and there is no reason why that won't transfer successfully to blogs as well. Especially as blogs add more audio (podcasting) and video content (video blogging). Would kids tune into to watch a video blog from Mickey Mouse, Spider-Man or SpongeBob SquarePants? Absolutely!
